Automobile with hydrogen turbine, electric all-wheel drive, independent steering on each wheel and variable ground clearance, with vertical axial oleo-pneumatic suspension
Description
of the car
As can be seen in the figure above, the hydrogen car with all-electric traction and steering consists of a chassis (1), on which the component elements are mounted.
1. The propulsion unit
consists of the hydrogen turbine (7), which drives the three-phase current
generator at the voltage of 380 V and the frequency of 350 Hz, which discharges
the current to the command and control board (9), from where it is discharged
either to the wheels motors 2, or to the electric steering actuators (4) to
perform the desired maneuvers.
1.1 The turbine uses hydrogen
as fuel, and it is stored in ordinary tanks by the "Hydrogen
microcapsules" method, by which the hydrogen is microencapsulated at 9
bars and behaves like a liquid.
1.1.a. It is known that the
gas turbine has a much higher thermodynamic efficiency, not to mention the
mechanical one, compared to the piston internal combustion engine, but this is
kept at constant speed and variable load, which is solved by putting it in
tandem with the three-phase generator, whose parametrically and qualitatively
processed current is fed to the drive wheels, respectively the steering
actuators.
1.1.b. The generator is
three-phase, executed according to aviation technology and operating at 350 Hz
and the synchronism speed 21,000 r.p.m., ensuring a very good power/mass ratio.
The operating speed of the hydrogen turbine is 21,000 r.p.m.
2. The steering is provided
electrically, all wheels (2), being directional, the car being able to perform
lateral parking and rotations around its own axis, as well as very dynamic overtaking
without centrifugal forces, the actuation being carried out by the electric
motors (4) step by step.
3. Damping is done with
oleo-pneumatic shock absorbers (3), with adjustable ground clearance.
4. Starting is done using the
generator as a starter, feeding it from the Li-Ion battery (12), intended to
take over the excess current during braking and going downhill.
5. The drive wheels are each with a three-phase discoidal motor
built into the rim, the fixed part, namely the axle of the wheel, being the
rotor of the motor, on which the power terminals are also located. Conclusion
The designed system is totally ecological, by burning the
combustibles only water vapor results. The thermodynamic and mechanical yields
lead us to a total yield of over 40%, the car also having a special
maneuverability, which is very necessary in the current context.
